| This wonderful little rescue dog came to me back in 1997 as a puppy and I could not have ever asked for a better dog. She was one of the Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever crosses from a litter that was dumped at a shelter. I could not believe someone could throw away such an amazing dog. She was tossed out like a piece of trash with the rest of her littermates, and she only has 3 legs. None of this has stopped her tenacious attitude to do whatever I ask of her. She has a UKC limited privilege number, and competes in obedience & agility. We are really hoping to achieve her Obedience Trial Championship. She has many admirable qualities anywhere from her intent focus or her incredible working attitude and she is a fabulous obedience competitor. At her first UKC Obedience Trial she received a score of 199 out of a possible 200 in the Novice A class - also obtaining a High In Trial! She finished her UCD title in three trials with no NQ's. At her first UKC Agility Trial she earned two legs towards her UAGII title, jumping at Division 3, with only three legs! Now, from her most recent UKC agility trial she has finished her UAGII title and has two legs towards her UAGI title, all with 1st placements! She obtained her UKC obedience and agility titles within a few months of each other! Everyone that has seen her and I work together can not deny the strong bond between us. It is a real shame that she is considered "lame" (irregularity or impairment of locomotion) by many clubs and registries, and is not allowed to do hunting retriever trials, or many other things for that matter, because she would excel in them with no doubt. She is an excellent retriever, very soft mouthed and marks well, a real pleasure to hunt with. She's got so much heart and soul, and has to be the most intelligent dog that I have ever met. She is a certified therapy dog with the delta society and makes regular visits to hospitals and nursing homes. To me this little spayed, 3-legged crossbreed is really worth more than her weight in gold! |
| I love this girl dearly. She is a UKC Obedience Trial Champion in the making for sure! Please remember, spay and neuter ALL pets! |
