*Obedience Work*

We are serious about obedience work with our dogs which we breed to be highly trainable, willing to please, easily motivated and focused, without loosing what should be a part of all terriers: vigor and outright joy of life. Our dogs are not "dead heads" like many show and obedience AmStaffs out there in the rings today who act like Golden Retrievers (afterall this is a TERRIER breed, and should show it!), our dogs are vivacious and FULL of life: like a terrier should be. Some AmStaffs are being bred down to dull, lifeless acting animals with no "sparkle" in them, no confidance in themselves with their tail between their legs. Why do this to a terrier? Should a terrier not be bold and self assured, alert and exuberant about everday things in life: showing an overall confidant and most happy dog - a pleasure around adults and children alike - a dog who you can take anywhere because he/she is so adaptable and ready for anything. That is how we want our dogs, and that is how we breed them. A show dog is not really anything at all if that same dog can not work too.

Jack, at only 5 months old; and his uncle Swedish Ch. & AKC Ch. Mercury in a sit stay together.

Mercury in a down stay (and what a pouty look for having to stay there!)

Mercury in the heel position and ready to go.

Mercury heeling offline attentively.

Mount Brier's Simply Perfect "Peaches" (a Rowdy and Diamond daughter born in 2002) heeling offline just beautifully (trained by us) and showing nice movement while she is at it. There is nothing like a dog who heels so attentively offline.

Mt. Brier's Fire In The Sky "Ozzy", sits politely at the door before being allowed inside as the owner goes in first.
