*Puppies From Our Past Litters*

*Fady Mae*

Mt. Brier's Fade To Black

*DAUGHTER OF KNIGHT*

(Owned and loved by Joe of Texas)

I will always remember, it was midnight when I stood in front of the cargo counter at Delta Airlines at the DFW Airport. Mount Brier’s “FADE TO BLACK” had been there since 10:30 in her crate waiting. It had taken me an hour and a half to find the warehouse because Delta had bought Northwest and all the signs had been taken down. I was in a panic.

“Yes Mr. Meyer, there is a dog here for you.” I paid-up, loaded the crate in my 4Runner, and drove fifty yards to the first open grassy area I could find. I dropped the tailgate, opened the crate door and called “Fady.” She came to the door shaking that low frequency of sheer terror, having just flown from Washington State, sitting alone for an hour and a half. I cupped her little head in both my hands and kissed her right between the eyes. I said, “Hi Fady, I’m your new owner.” She just exploded with Joy. To hold her in my arms and feel her go from stark terror to sheer Joy, I will remember it for the rest of my life. I looked up to see a dozen cargo workers at the loading dock watching and waving.

Midnight with Fade to Black. . .

Well it only took a couple of days at home in San Antonio with my other AmStaffs before it was obvious that her real name is Fady Mae. She is all- girl, and the happiest of all my dogs. It rubs off on them, and me too.

I bought Fady from Amanda Reichelt (Mount Brier) because of Amanda’s breeding philosophy: Temperament is First and Foremost. My Staffs live indoors and they must get along with each other. Health is Next and Amanda makes sure breedings are OFA and Ataxia screened. I don’t expect any health problems with my Fady Mae. Thirdly, my girls got “Type.” She starts in the conformation ring in the fall. I’m expecting good results, I know we will have some serious Fun!

*Madea*

Mt. Brier's Madea Mirage

*FROM BO & TWOTONE'S LITTER*

(Owned and loved by Idalis of Texas)

Hey Amanda, Madea is doing just fine. We just moved down to Tx. We
drove and she took the long trip with us. She is a
dream to own. She was awesome on the trip. She was in
heat so she had to wear her seat belt and her doggie
panties. We only had to make two extra stops for her
other wise she did her business when we made our
regular stops. She is about 55 pounds. She lost a
little weight after the trip and during her time in
heat. She did excellent in her beginner puppy class at
petsmart. She was the only dog to make eye contact
with Clif for a whole minute while she sit, layed and
stayed. She is very smart and everybody thinks she is
absolutely gorgeous. We haven't showed her yet but
h opefully we can start this year if not then
definitely when I return from Iraq next year. She gets
along very well with other dogs and animals. She's
really good with kids. She doesn't jump up on them and
she'll sit and wait for them to throw her toys. She's
gotten sun bleached. What can we do to get her coat
black again? She's and awesome dog and I'm grateful
and truly blessed owner. Hope you like the pics.

*Penny*

Mt. Brier's Glover's Shiny Penny

*FROM BO & RUSTIN'S LITTER*

(Owned and loved by Karen Glover)

Hey!!! Gosh, sorry it has taken me so long to reply. Penny is doing great!!!! We have so much fun with her. We go camping a lot. Penny loves going. She absolutely loves the water. If we are anywhere near water, Penny is in it swimming and playing around. I have a couple of pictures I took tonight. I couldn't get her to sit long enough to take a picture but I got two of you laying down. She was too worried about the cats- wanting to play with them. We have three cats- Tinker, Audry and Hank. Penny loves playing with them. She probably thinks she is a cat.

Hope you enjoy the pictures. I am not a very good photographer.

Karen

*Maximus*

Mt. Brier's Sergeant At Arms
(AKC & UKC Major Pointed)

OFA Cardiac Normal, CERF Normal

*FROM DALLAS & RUSTIN'S LITTER*

(Owned and loved by Max and Chu of Colorado)

Hi Mandy, how's it going. I want to update you on Maximus's progress, he has recently graduated puppy obedience class and received an extra award for Mr. congeniality. You have given us THE most wonderful puppy anybody could possibly have given us, he is the most beautiful, gentle, fun loving, pup in the world. As you can see, he has such great markings and such a powerful appearance to him. We have also started taking him to conformation classes and he is doing such a wonderful job, his first show will be August 14 & 15 of this year. He is always complimented on every place we take him, people always want to know what type of dog he is and everybody stops and wants to see him. On one occasion there was a gentleman that was completely across the store and once he saw him had to come by and just admire Maximus. We just want to tell you thank you for giving us the opportunity to own such a wonderful creature. Thanks again. Max & Chu & family Alonzo. P.S. My son calls him his brother.

Another letter from the owners of Maximus...

Hi Mandy, we are so excited, we did extremely well at the dog show. The first day we took reserve winner, second day we took reserve winner again, but the third and fourth show we took best of winners and got two three point majors under our belt. It was an exciting show weekend, we had a lot of people come up to us to complement Maximus and tell us just how beautiful and gorgeous he was and how he had such a wonderful temperament. They could not get over how big he was and how big his head was (22 inches big). Some people were asking us if we were going to stud him out and on our last day there was a elementary school that went to go see the show and they all wanted to take pics with Maximus and they just could not get enough of him. He was such a great boy and we love him so much, we cannot thank you enough for such a wonderful boy. We also went to get him looked at for his cardiac test and he was diagnosed normal, so we are going to send the paper work with the results to OFA. Again thank you for everything.

P.S. He turned 1 year old on the 19th of February.

Max, Chu, & Family

*Sereinity*

Mt. Brier's Velvet Serenity

*FROM DALLAS & RUSTIN'S LITTER*

(Owned and loved by Shawn and Tammy of Arizona)

Yes, Serenity is wonderful. I am not sure how to download pictures onto the computer, so I am going to send you some in the mail. She is all we hoped for and much more. At night she has her own dog house that she curls up in and calls home. She has a bed outside of the dog house too, but I think she likes the comfort of her house. The weather here as cooled down tons and she loves being outside and play in the grass. Another thing she loves to do is jump into her water outside water bowl and blow bubbles while chasing her tail. It is so cute to watch. We call her our little bunny because if you say something she wants she will jump up with all four off the ground. We call her our child. She also loves going for car rides and on afternoon hiking adventures. ---- We sent the crate around the end of June-beginning of July. You should have received it by now. If not, I will have to go down to the UPS store and see if they can look it up in their files because I no longer have the receipt. I will send those pictures on Monday. Great to hear from you and let me know when you receive those pictures. Sincerely, Shawn & Tammy.

Another letter from the owners of Serenity...

Serenity is doing great. She is as spoiled as can be. She has her own couch, 15 toys, a 52 inch bed in our room and a big pool to swim in when summer comes around. She is such a sweet compasionate dog. Since her 2 yr mark had just hit we were going to take her in and get the hip check done and of course the heart test as well. We just love her to death. We will send you some pics here shortly and show you how cute she has gotten. Shawn and Tammy

*Ashanti*

Mt. Brier's Too Fast To Follow

*FROM BLUE & TIZZY'S LITTER*

(Owned and loved by Heikki & Cindy of Belgium)

Hi Mandy, as for Ashanti, she's doing really great! We thought she'd be a little frightened after her long trip, but on the contrary she is so happy and alive. When we got her home she adjusted very quick, playing and teasing the other dogs immediately. It's really amazing how confident and relaxed she is. I can't hardly wait to start her training and of course her show career. I think she'll do great in the conformation ring, she's so beautiful, very nice body and structure and most important a happy spirit. Thank you so much for this wonderful girl!! Greetz, Cindy and Heikki.

Another letter from the owners of Ashanti...

Hi Mandy, We're very proud to announce Ashanti's first victory!! Today at the Belgian National Specialty she was best puppy female!! The judge (Mrs Butrimova from Lithuania) really loved her. Her comments about Ashanti were : Excellent type, nice head, nice shape of body, good tail setting, good angulations and quarters, nice temperament, good movement. Only her ears are too heavy. She was rewarded with very promising. I included a picture and her diploma along with this mail. Next show will be the International show in Kortrijk(Belgium) in November. She will be in Youth class then. Thank you for this wonderful girl. Greetz, Cindy and Heikki.

*Dakota*

Mt. Brier's Seattles Blue Lightning
(AKC Major Pointed)
OFA Cardiac Normal (Doppler-Cardiolgoist)

*FROM MERCURY AND DIAMOND'S LITTER*

(Owned and loved by Crystal Rain Kennels of California)

Dakota freaks me out sometimes, but not in a bad way. Although I know he is an animal physically and spiritually, sometimes I swear he is a human. Alright, I let him sleep next to me on my bed most every night. Well sometimes there is just something about the way he lies beside me because I feel as if I'm lying next to one of my dear, beloved male friends. Also, this dog smiles like a human. He can smile as big as he wants on both sides of his face. It's so far out!

His working ability is incredible. When I teach him he learns almost as fast as I can teach him. Sometimes I'm not even quite sure what I'm doing, but he figures out what I want somehow. And here is a shocker. If I say something to him in my mind, even if he's across the yard from me, he hears it and responds! I've taught him stuff this way! He is quite intune to me indeed.

Oh yes and as I told you before but this is the dog I saw in a heaven vision a couple times a year or so before he was born, and two years before I even knew he physically existed on the earth. In the visions (well they were more like out of body experiences...sort of) I called Dakota by the name Dapple (taken from a carmel apple brand called Karmel Dapple). I knew God had made him for me and one day his soul would be sent to the earth in a body and he'd end up being mine. Well, I have been to a lot of Amstaff and Pit Bull breeder sites and out of the hundreds of dogs I saw on those sites, only Dakota looked like my Dapple.

When I first laid eyes on Dakota on your site his eyes pierced through me and I stared at him and it did something strange to me. I recognized him. I knew I already knew him. And so I got him and now he's asleep on my bed. And I am convinced as much today as much as I ever was: this is Dapple!

I believe in soul mates but I also believe in soul pets and soul friends as well: people and animals you are destined to have super deep and incomprehendable relationships with that will last an eternity.

People who say animals are dumb and do not have a soul have never really gotten to know one. I've learned through relationships with two horses and Dakota that animals are very spiritual and they can think and reason. The reason people think they can't reason is they don't reason in the same way we do. However, if you could see a dog's reasoning and trace that reasoning through it's actions, you would find it made a whole lot of sense. And their way of thinking is very simple, but at the same time, so complex. They don't over complicate things. One emotional word, or one look, can speak volumes. The animal language has a way of just transfering an understanding of what they are trying to say into your mind and into your heart.

Hello Mandy this is Jan's daughter Kim. Star is doing good. She is getting a long with our other dogs. they play all the time. which I am happy about. She is a wonderful girl. *Lucy*

Mount Brier's Silly Lil' Lady

*FROM MERCURY & DIAMOND'S LITTER*

(Owned and loved by John and Susan of Idaho)

Hi Mandy, the pup is beautiful. She sure does have some feet on her (just like Oscar and Mercury no doubt)! She's acclimating to her new home pretty well (better, if Dulci would stop acting so much like a mother hen!). Poor baby can't turn around with out Dulci standing over her! I'm sure the newness will wear off and all will be good. Her call name is "Lucy" (she is pretty silly). Her registered name is going to be Mt. Briers Silly Lil Lady. Thanks again for such another wonderful addition to our family!

Thanks, Susan Newton

*Jupiter*

AKC Ch. Mt. Brier's Too Hot To Handle

OFA Cardiac Normal

*FROM BLUE & CHLOE'S LITTER*

(Owned and loved by FoxFire Kennels of Washington)

I can not even start to express how I feel about Jupiter in words. She is stunning to look at, with unsurpassed conformation and dynamite movement! Her temperament is a pleaser too as she also is highly sociable and can get along with any other dog no matter how boisterous they are. She loves people and is a true lap dog even though she is way to heavy for that. But she doesn't think so!!! She has also done really well in the ring for such a young bitch against more mature/seasoned bitches. I was so proud of her 3 point major from her first show! She has so much to offer to us and more.

*Oscar*

Mount Brier's Tenacious Oscar

*FROM BLUE & CHLOE'S LITTER*

(Owned and loved by John and Susan of Idaho)

Hi, I don't know where to begin! Oscar is the most beautiful, intelligent, loving, devoted dog (I hate to even call him a dog, he's in a class all his own) I've ever come across. I was brushing my teeth and he started barking at me. I thought, I'll show you, you won't like it, and took an old tooth brush and started brushing his teeth, he loved it!!!!!! Now, every time I brush my teeth, he barks until he gets his brushed! I started giving him baths on Saturday evenings so now, every Saturday night he jumps into the tub (on his own) and waits for me to start his bath water. When he's done, he grabs his towel with his teeth on the edge of the tub. He sometimes jumps into the tub during the week too, to let me know he wants one. I sometimes keep a pig ear in my purse when we go places. I now have to be careful where I leave my purse, Oscar gets into it and helps himself to the pig ear or candy (mine)! He's worse than the kids when it comes to that!!!! He had every one at my son's football game laughing because of that stunt! He goes just about every where with me. He especially likes to go to my son's football games! He just can't wait until the boy's notice him and come to pet him! He loves kids!!!!!! As you can tell, I just can't say enough about him, he's everything and more to us. Now you know why we can hardly wait until we get our little girl! He is as much a part of our family as our children (he listens better than they most of the time). He also talks back sometimes when he gets in trouble and he thinks he shouldn't have. I can go on, and on, he's wonderful! Thank you so very much for allowing John and me to be his biggest fans, John and Susan Newton.
